It’s been awhile

Well, I’ve got an apartment. It’s in the Houghton area of Kirkland, and it’s very nice. I’m taking posession in a couple of weeks, and I couldn’t be happier. Andy and I definitely need the space to ourselves
He’s here right now, drinking milk with my feet in his lap and watching Spiderman 2. He’s had his hair hilighted.

He’s always been such a fucking handsome guy, but now it’s like - whoa. The girls can’t stop looking. I love it.

Life’s not all flowers and butterflies and candy though. I’m feeling really transitional and out of sync with the world around me. It reminds me of freshman year all over again. At least I have more social support this time - Andy’s here, I have my family, but it always takes a while to develop the kinds of deep, abiding friendships that I value. I miss my friends from college - and I spend a lot of time thinking about cool ideas for how to go visit them.

I guess all the turmoil is what differentiates my life from a fairy tale.
