The Great Seattle Power Outage of 2006

Wow! What a windstorm. I’ve seen downed trees, live power lines on the ground, people burning green branches, lines for gas and houses completely squashed. It’s quite a mess out here and currently, Puget Sound Energy says that it may take a week or more to restore power to all customers.

Andy and I are currently up at Steve’s house. He’s got a generator, so I’ve had a warm shower and they’re cooking home-made soup. Thank goodness for having amazing, generous friends.

We’re debating now whether to brave the crazy wilds to get to my father’s house for Shabbat/First night of Chanukah dinner…
