Wal-Mart’s Roomate Style Quiz is Kinda Sexist

Has anyone else noticed the gender stereotypes in Wal-Mart’s “Roomate Style Match” Facebook quiz? I really don’t like how guys who are social and ready to entertain are “The Mayor” while women are just “Socialites.” Why can’t we be Mayors, too?

I agree. Unfortunatly wal mart panders to well studied social perceptions, to give both men and women want they want. However, those “men” and “women” are statistical quantities, not actuall people. You have to love the age of statistical marketing. F wal mart in every single way. Also, F target, they dont get away with their abuses just cause their number two.

Ok so - did Wal Mart just fall out of the 1950’s or something? I mean.. what the heck?

And it’s not even the Mayor/Socialite thing. Since when did our current culture think of women as merely “Socialites”? They’re businesswomen and engineers and tons of other professions you can think of. Why Socialite?

    Bah..

Got something to say?
