Watch the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs & Executives Event on Ustream
March 25, 2008
I’ll be speaking along with a lot of amazing people at the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs & Executives: Business Applications of Social Networking event this morning. If you’re interested in watching, join us via Ustream.
Update:
Here are the video embeds from the event itself. It was a privilege to be included.

Thought you all did a great job, and glad that I could be there in spirit, although I couldn’t be there in person.
Tell Karen I said hi!
Poke-poke-poke.
And, great point on SEC and publicly traded company blogging - it never seems to be addressed enough.
I thought your forum was very insightful; it’s so reassuring to see so many women taking initiative when it comes to online business dialogue. Recently I’ve spoken with many women who are exploring their web options as far as marketing and business management are concerned. The only web application that I can give my highest regards to concerning web and business management is Microsoft’s new Office Live Small Business. It is by the far the most comprehensive and easy to use system to implement in your business. The program is ideal for those who are just starting up and don’t know where to begin when it comes to web presence. Definitely take a look at http://smallbusiness.officelive.com for further information. Also I’m always around, I work with Microsoft so please don’t hesitate to ask any questions!
Tanya: Thanks for coming by and leaving your kind comments about the panel along with you marketing message. At least you were transparent and personal, which I suppose is what I would have advised you to do if you’d hired me to consult with your company on blogger engagement.
Next time, though, you might want to try establishing a relationship with me first, rather than simply leaving a comment advertising your product.
Now, about your product…I’ve had the chance to play with it and I have to say that from what I’ve seen, I’m not impressed. Sure, it gives professionals some easy tools to establish a quick Web presence, but the results are really kludgy from a design standpoint. E-mail integration with Outlook is a counterintuitive multi-step process that requires a lot of guesswork.
And should a professional want to remove their site from MS Small Business hosting and place it somewhere more customizable in the future, there appears to be some pretty severe lock-in.
All in all, I’m not a fan.
Jeremy: Thanks for watching!
See Facebook for your return poke. Also, I hope your move to L.A. went smoothly. xo!
Thank you for the poke - it did make me smile. The LA move has been okay (tense, etc.) but the gig is great. Having a good time thus far. xxoo.
Is there a place where I can see video of your talk?
Trista: I’ve posted them here as well as in a new blog post.
Thank you for your constructive criticism Teresa! I’m sorry you were not as satisfied with the service as hoped.
Best Wishes!
