McCain’s “Spiritual Guide” Sees America as a “Bastion Against Islam in the World”

May 8, 2008

I’m not a big fan of tarring people with a broad brush based on who they associate with. Lots of people keep company and even spiritual fellowship with those whose beliefs are diametrically opposed to their own. That said, the comments made about Islam by John McCain’s “spiritual guide,” the Rev. Rod Parsley have certainly thrown a worrisome light on McCain’s candidacy:

Unlike Senator Obama — who never brought Jeremiah Wright onstage at a campaign event — Senator McCain has chosen to refer to Parsley as a “moral compass” during one of his rallies. Obama never sought Wright’s endorsement, and Wright never offered it. By contrast, McCain went out of his way to seek a political alliance with a man who equates Islam with the anti-Christ.
