The Empire Strikes Barack

One of the interesting aspects of the Democratic primaries have been the voter-generated videos in support of the Barack Obama. It is amazing good some of them are, from “Obama Girl”, to “Baracky”, to “The Empire Strikes Barack” (below).
And of course there are the silly video’s as well.
I’ve been thinking about this too. I don’t seem to recall prior elections generating this much public-generated media. Granted, YouTube was only founded in 2005, after the 2004 election, so it can’t be used as a measure; but it seems like the public as a whole is far more invested, both politically and creatively, than they have been in recent years.
