Media Apologizes to Palin for Asking Questions

September 7, 2008

Roger Simon has a hilarious satire of the sad, sorry criticisms of the media coming from the GOP. My favorite bit:

On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.

We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.

We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?

We have asked mean questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?

Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.

Definitely worth reading…

I think you might find the ALA’s (American Library Association) response to Palin trying to ban books and firing a librarian who refused to comply very interesting. http://www.ala.org/ala/pressreleases2008/September2008/RettigStatementSep08.cfm

I think you can rest assured that most librarians will not want Palin to be their vice president. :)

I’m starting to become very pessimistic about this election. Sarah Palin’s selection has turned this thing upside down in such a way that while all the talk is about her and not about the issues, the Republicans will win, and win down ticket as well.

This is all unbelievable given the past 8 years, but the good news is it isn’t inevitable. If all the energy that went into Obama’s campaign earlier this year is revived he can still win. If people think participating in the caucuses and primaries was enough, he WILL lose.

Meanwhile your website whole-heartedly supports a candidate who announced his candidacy for president two years into his first term as a senator.

Egotistical and power-hungry are the only words that come to mind.

Got something to say?
