This blog was started in 2003 as a geeky experiment by then-college student Teresa Valdez Klein. The blog was hosted in various locations, first at Blogspot, then at Teresa’s now defunct www.teresapiano.com domain. Teresa shut the blog down in early 2004 when she shut down the website, then started blogging at Blogspot again later that year. This blog has since existed at TypePad and finally here at its own domain.

In late 2005, Teresa’s then-fiancé Andy Sparrow wrote a guest post on the blog about his experiences during hurricanes Katrina and Wilma while living on Florida’s Atlantic coast. He soon became a regular contributor and the two quickly realized that they enjoyed bouncing political opinions off of one another.

Andy and Teresa ended their relationship in September 2007, but they remain close friends and co-bloggers. When they’re not taking care of their respective geeky careers, you can usually find them climbing rocks, doing yoga, watching bad science fiction movies or hanging out with friends.
